ASSISTANT INSTRUCTOR

Would you like to assist instructors with open water diver courses and collect valuable teaching experience to become a diving instructor? Then qualifying as an Assistant Instructor is the right program for you! Learn to teach new divers academics and confined water skills under the supervision of a scuba instructor.


FACTS AND TRAINING STANDARDS

The Assistant Instructor rating is the next step after becoming a Divemaster along the scuba instructor pathway. It allows you to collect valuable teaching experience, practice briefings, teach academics, and conduct in-water training. If you want to further your career as a dive professional, you can finish the Instructor Training Course, pass the Instructor Evaluation, and become an Open Water Diving Instructor.

Continuing Education is not only paramount for creating safe, active divers, it is also essential to your long term success as an instructor. Continuing your diving education is not just for your divers, but for you as well.

Becoming an Specialty Instructor is easy. Continue your diving education as an instructor by enrolling in a Specialty Instructor Seminar for each of the diving specialties you would like to teach.

Alternatively, you can co-teach the specialty you are interested in with an experienced Specialty Instructor or request a Verification Application of your experience.

Teach more specialties to automatically earn the Advanced Open Water Instructor certification.

INSTRUCTOR TRAINER

Becoming an Instructor Trainer is one of the most challenging and rewarding programs as a scuba instructor. Qualify to teach the entire range of our recreational diving courses, apply for the next step in your diving career – Instructor Trainer!

FACTS AND TRAINING STANDARDS

Becoming an Instructor Trainer is the ultimate accomplishment. Meet other SSI Instructors worldwide at the Instructor Training Seminar.

Instructor Trainers are qualified to teach the Instructor Training Course (ITC) and prepare ITC candidates for their Instructor Evaluation (IE). Instructor Trainers can also teach Specialty Instructor Seminars and the Assistant Instructor Trainer program.
